Support tools got bloated.
We unbloated them.
Customer support shouldn't cost a fortune. We built HelpPilot to put customer support on autopilot — without the per-seat fees, the AI add-on surcharge, or the annual contracts.
The problem we saw
If you've ever priced out tools like Intercom, Zendesk, or Drift, you know the reality. Basic features start at $79 per seat per month. AI is an add-on that costs another dollar per resolution. You're locked into an annual contract before you've sent your first message. And the pricing punishes you for growing — every new teammate means another seat.
Support shouldn't work like that.
What we believe
AI from day one, not bolted on
Most support tools added AI as an afterthought — an expensive layer on top of a decade-old shared inbox. HelpPilot was designed around AI from the start. The AI agent puts common questions on autopilot, hands off to your team with full context when it can't resolve something, and learns from your knowledge base instead of guessing.
Pay for conversations, not seats
Every plan includes unlimited team members and unlimited properties. You pay for what you actually use — conversations — and AI is $0.30 per resolution, only when it successfully handles a question without involving a human. Handoffs to your team are free.
Lightweight by design
Our chat widget is under 15KB gzipped, loads asynchronously, and uses Shadow DOM for style isolation so it can never break your site's CSS. Most competing widgets add hundreds of kilobytes to every page load. Yours shouldn't.
Honest pricing, no contracts
One price, all features included. No per-seat surprises, no AI add-on fees, no feature gates that force you into an enterprise plan to unlock things you'd expect on day one. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.
How we got here
HelpPilot started the way most useful software starts — out of frustration with the tools on the market. We were paying enterprise prices for support software whose AI features barely worked, whose widgets slowed our sites down, and whose pricing punished us every time we added a teammate. We figured we could do better.
So we did. HelpPilot is built on the same stack and conventions we use on our other products — fast, multi-tenant, real-time, and AI-native from day one. We use it ourselves on intonate.io, our cloud-based business phone system, which is where you'll find the widget in the wild today.
Who's behind it
HelpPilot is built by Chris Schuld and the team at Aztec Software, LLC, a small Arizona software studio that builds opinionated SaaS products. We're long-time engineers who've been on both sides of the support inbox — building products, and trying to talk to the humans who use them. HelpPilot is the tool we wished existed.
